What are the Crow Awards?

The Crow Awards is an initiative of the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber, coordinated and run yearly by Chamber staff. The Awards acknowledge and reward business excellence across a variety of industry sectors.

How long has the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber Awards program been running?

The 2013 Crow Awards is the 27th year of the awards program since its inception. The Crow Awards were formally known as the Golden Crow Awards until 2012 when the program underwent massive changes including their name.

What type of organisations can enter the Awards?

Any business, company and organisation (private or public) located in the Wagga Wagga area are eligible to enter.

Why has the Chamber changed the name of the Awards?

The Chamber is looking to keep pace with the changing landscape of conducting business.

Do you need to be a Wagga Wagga Chamber Member to enter?

No. The awards are open to all business within the Wagga Wagga area. Members of the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber are able to enter the Awards for no cost and Non Chamber members will be charged a $25 entry fee.

What is the nomination process?

Any business may be nominated for an award by the general public or may self-nominate. This is a standard practice to allow for the Awards committees to gauge interest in the awards and track trends in the awards process.

How do I know if my business has been nominated for an award?

A letter and follow up phone call will advise you if your business has been nominated.

Can I nominate my own business for the Award?

Yes, and a follow up letter and phone call will take place as above.

Is there a nomination or Submission fee?

Yes. Members of the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber are able to enter the Awards for no cost and Non Chamber members will be charged a $25 entry fee. This fee is charged to cover administrative costs which are normally absorbed through Chamber Membership. To become a member or to get more information please contacts the Chamber staff.

If my business is nominated am I automatically entered into the awards?

If your business is nominated by a third party, you will still have to fill out our round one submission process, a 1000 word MAXIMUM written submission stating why your business should be nominated and move onto round 2.

When do nominations open?

The Crow Awards nomination period opens on 11th February, 2013.

What is the deadline for nominations?

Nominations for the 2013 Crow Awards close on 4th March 2013.

If my business is nominated what do I do then?

Once you have received a nomination advice, the event coordinator will be in contact to advise whether you have made it to round 2 of the judging process.

When will finalists be announced?

Finalists will be announced on 8th April 2013.

When Can I buy Tickets for the Crow Awards Night?

Tickets will be on sale Monday 18th March 2013.

What is the dress code for the Awards evening?

This is a prestigious event and we request Black Tie Standard.

Can Board Members of The Wagga Wagga Business Chamber enter the Awards?

No. Board members are no longer allowed to enter the awards program due to conflicts of interest.

Are the Judges members of the Chamber Board?

No. All judging is independent of the Board and Wagga Wagga Business Chamber. 

Entries are judged independently, with each question given a numeric weighting and tallied separately.

 How are the Crow & Recognition Winners selected?

The Crow, Wagga Wagga Business Chamber Hall of Fame, DA Roll of Honour and Don Kendell Community Awards are selected by select committees as follows

·         The Crow is selected by our Chief Judge and an additional judge who reviews all finalists of the business awards for the overall Outstanding Business Winner.

·         Wagga Wagga Business Chamber Hall of Fame is selected from a nomination shortlist of Business People who have retired or are deceased to honour the contribution they made through their business to the Wagga Wagga Economy and community or placed Wagga on the National map. The panel is comprised of representatives from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Business Chamber, Historical Society Council and Defence.

·         DA Roll Of Honour is selected from a nomination shortlist of Business People who are still actively involved in their business and have made an outstanding contribution to Business and the wider community. The Panel is comprised of Staff from the DA and The Wagga Wagga Business Chamber  

·         Don Kendell Community Awards is selected from entries for the award by Chief Judge and a selected committee
